Tarek Elsamni is a technologist and founder with two decades of experience building and securing large-scale cloud platforms. He is the Founder and CEO of Xplain AI, an AI learning platform that turns the questions curious children ask into narrated, illustrated lessons in Arabic and English. Built by an Egyptian engineering team, the product now serves families across the Middle East and the United States and is being deployed in Egyptian schools.
Alongside Xplain AI, Tarek runs Shebang Labs, a cloud, DevOps, and platform engineering consultancy. Before founding his own ventures he spent close to 20 years in engineering roles at GE, SAP, Maersk, Citrix, and Deloitte, working across cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, and Terraform. He holds an MSc in Distributed Cloud Systems from the University of Hertfordshire.
Egyptian-British and based between Dubai and Cairo, Tarek is a vocal advocate for building globally competitive AI products from Egypt.
