Economic transformation and international development leader with 16+ years of experience across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, spanning development finance, private sector development, strategic advisory, institutional reform, entrepreneurship, and innovation-led growth.
Most recently served for five years as Advisor to Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, overseeing more than US$1 billion in development finance. Also served as Co-Chair of the Technical Secretariat of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, helping lead national policy reforms including Egypt’s Startup Charter.
Earlier experience includes roles with the World Bank and the United Nations Technology Innovation Lab, alongside advisory work with the IsDB, EU, EIB, EBRD, UNDP, ILO, USAID, GIZ, Nesta, and Innovate UK. Brings direct entrepreneurial experience as founder of Yomken.com, an internationally recognized regional crowdsolving platform, and co-founder of two other technology ventures in smart mobility and assistive technology.
Served on the boards of national and regional institutions covering economic policy, development planning, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, venture capital, and regional trade. Ashoka Fellow and LEAD Fellow, Africa CEO Forum, with experience working in and leading teams across 10+ countries, published contributions to the Global Innovation Index, World Economic Forum, and World Bank publications, and fluency in Arabic, English, and French.
