Sherif is a senior pharmaceutical commercial leader with over 20 years of experience across Egypt, the Gulf, North Africa, and the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region, with deep expertise in oncology and specialty care. He began his career at AstraZeneca and later spent nearly two decades at Novartis, where he held a range of senior leadership roles spanning commercial strategy, market access, and organizational transformation.
In February 2026, Sherif was appointed Country President for Egypt. He re‑joined AstraZeneca in February 2025 as Egypt Oncology Business Unit Director, where he led a broad transformation of the oncology organization. Under his leadership, the business strengthened its market position, accelerated sustainable growth, and fostered a culture of openness, empowerment, and high performance.
Earlier in his career, Sherif held regional and country leadership roles focused on business excellence and next‑generation customer engagement, contributing to the advancement of data‑informed, patient‑centric approaches across multiple markets. His work has been recognized for elevating customer experience, enabling agile execution, and building future‑ready capabilities.
Sherif holds a Pharmacy degree from Alexandria University.
