Lamiaa Melegui is an international economic cooperation, trade promotion, and private sector development
expert with more than 15 years of experience advancing regional integration, export competitiveness,
sustainable economic growth, and strategic international partnerships across Africa, the Mediterranean
region, and Europe.
Currently serving as Partnerships and Programme Management at the UN.
Lamiaa led strategic initiatives focused on local economic development, investment facilitation,
urban-rural economic linkages, and enabling environments for sustainable private sector engagement.
Lamiaa served as Senior Advisor and Component Lead for Access to Markets
and Business Linkages at GIZ, acting as Egypt Focal Point for the Africa Global Project Agricultural Policy
and Innovation Fund (FABI). Her work focused on intra-African trade, export promotion, agribusiness
competitiveness, market access, and policy dialogue.
Lamiaa is a certified International Trade Centre (ITC) trainer on the African Continental Free Trade Area
(AfCFTA), supporting African businesses and entrepreneurs in accessing regional and international
markets.
She has worked with major international organizations including UN-Habitat, GIZ, UNIDO, USAID,
DFID/FCDO, SECO, the European Union, and the Government of Egypt.
Lamiaa is a recognized speaker and moderator at international forums including Afreximbank Annual
Meetings, AIM Congress UAE, the World Fair Trade Organization Conference, and GIZ-SNRD Africa
platforms.
