Eng. Hossam Sadek is a distinguished executive, strategist, and public-private policy leader with more than three decades of experience spanning information technology, healthcare financing, insurance, financial services, and asset management.
Throughout his career, Eng. Sadek has operated at the intersection of technology, healthcare, finance, and public policy, leading complex transformations and building innovative institutions capable of operating at a national scale. His expertise encompasses digital transformation, enterprise technology, healthcare systems, regulatory and compliance frameworks, institutional governance, and strategic public-private partnerships.
Eng. Sadek served as Chief Executive Officer of Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA) from January 2020 to December 2022, playing a pivotal role in the establishment and implementation of Egypt’s landmark Universal Health Insurance programme. During this formative period, he contributed to developing the technological infrastructure, operational frameworks, governance mechanisms, and institutional capabilities underpinning one of the country’s most significant healthcare reforms.
Following his tenure at UHIA, he continued to provide strategic leadership across the private sector and regional healthcare consulting, advising on healthcare transformation, organisational development, technology, and public-private collaboration.
Eng. Sadek subsequently returned to the public sector to resume his leadership of UHIA, supporting the continued expansion, institutional maturity, and operational governance of Egypt’s national universal health insurance system.
