After a stint at his father’s gold business in Alexandria, Egypt, Rafy spent the first 15 years of his career in information provision for Middle East capital markets. Over the years, his career has ventured into journalism before assuming overall regional responsibility for ISI Emerging Markets, a multinational economic and financial database firm.
Later, he provided development consultancy to both USAID, Canadian International Development Agency and UNIDO. This led to a pivot from traditional investment advisory onto innovative technologies, including renewable energy and fintech ventures.
Rafy holds an LL.M. in International Business Law, University of Leiden, The Netherlands. He is also the holder of a B.A. with a Major in Economics and Political Science from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
