Mohamed Hussein

Mohamed Hussein is a senior banking executive with more than 20 years of experience across Business Banking, SME Banking, corporate banking, credit, and digital transformation.

He currently serves as Head of Business Banking at Arab African International Bank (AAIB), leading the development and growth of the bank’s Business Banking franchise.

Previously, he established and led AAIB’s SME Banking business and its digital transformation agenda, with a focus on building innovative banking propositions and positioning the bank as a long-term Growth Partner for businesses.

Prior to AAIB, Mohamed held a senior leadership role at Banque Misr, where he established the SME Business Hubs model to expand financing for medium enterprises beyond Cairo and sponsored the development of the bank’s digital SME lending proposition, Express Loan.

Earlier, he spent more than a decade with Barclays Bank Egypt, building extensive experience across commercial banking, credit, and relationship management.

He also served as a Non-Executive Board Member of Sandah Microfinance, contributing to governance, risk, and audit oversight. Mohamed holds an MBA From AAST
